Coastal Banksia
A common spieces of tree that grows along the East Coast of Australia. The Banksia is naturally adapted to the presence of bushfires. With thick bark that protects the trunk from fire and have lignotubers that can resprout after wildfires. Traditional aboriginal use was collecting the flowers to sweeten water and the cones would be used as firebrands to carry fire to another location. Our ancestors use firestick farming as a way to hunt and maintain balance in nature.
