The Golden Wattle is a new addition to the mugs, and it is also us
Australian emblem. The mug has two praying mantis collecting the ants as they explore the
Golden Wattle. The ants collect the wattle seed and store this in the underground chambers beneath the tree, eating the outside husk only, keeping the seeds healthy. This process protects the Wattle in the Australian wild fires, and they are easily able to rejuvenate after the fires.
The praying mantis feed off the ants and the caterpillars of the blue wattle moth, in turn this moth is also reliant on the wattle tree for its survival. This painting shows the life cycle of the insects of the Golden Wattle and how magnificent our National Emblem is.
